Newport Landscaping Newsletter, Issue #001 'Thank you'
December 13, 2017

Thank you for making contact this year and if I'm honest with you, I haven't been able to see everyone this year and for those of you I haven't seen yet.....I apologise.

So changes for next year? Yes...it's going to get even busier...and happily by choice.

As they say in all the best stories, crazy but true but......with others joining me.

Without others I don't think I'd make it through 2018, or any other year after that come to think of it.

As in 2017, two hats, one head.....mine!

All the internal work under www.lyonsflooring-uk.com and the external work under www.newport-landscaping.co.uk. It’s worked up to now but maybe one collective title to reach all my customers, I don’t know, I’ll have to think on that one!

The work remains the same though and everything within tile and stone fitted, repaired or restored albeit having to move more towards the ‘larger’ work next year.

The landscaping is part of my background and started serving my time as a bricklayer from 1972, has given me 45 years in the business.

At 62 I’m overdue for retirement but won’t be giving up until I really, really...really have to, which won’t be anytime soon.

There as so many products out there for homes both inside and out that if you can still find me on the net, then I’ll be ready to install, fit, or build, in one form or another, albeit with the help of others.

I'm not going to cover more miles to achieve this increase or outperform Lewis Hamilton up and down the M4 (if he drove a transit van like mine that is!) but welcome others to the business and perhaps grow in work type to meet the demands of you the customer.

So what’s new for 2018?

Well, this year I’ve seen an increase in the desire for quality products such as mosaics, having tiled the ceiling of a sauna, also ‘huge’ tiles for floors, easy enough.....but also for walls.....”because the man in the shop said it would be ok”!

I’m going to kill that man in the shop!!!

Half a ton of tiles on a 3cwt wall :-/

In contrast ‘Lite stone’ is a stone veneer that has endless possibilities for application and at only 3mm thick takes the place of tiles and stone in every setting. It can be sealed like stone and used in bathrooms, showers, accent walls and even floors. Great for a feature wall.

Paving is booming for all your patios with porcelain tiles making an impact and the quality is superb. Alternative finishes that don’t cost an arm and a leg.

Restoration of all the Victorian, Travertine and Marble floors as well as rejuvenating any surfaces outside. A lot of the products are from traditional backgrounds and recommended by our stonemasons and suppliers from around the UK.

Brother Terry is joining us with his expertise in stonework and pizza ovens, a great combination for the Landscaping.

Brick slips which are extremely thin and can be fixed to any surface, are now making an impact both indoors and outdoors and will be part of the arsenal to transform log cabins and summer houses, changing them from timber to brick within a couple of days.

Totally weatherproof and insulated drastically changing the appearance of any feature walls in your lounge, kitchen, bathroom etc or if you really want, we’ll totally transform a rendered house to a beautiful brick finish in no time at all.

It’s all on the website and by signing up to the newsletter you’ll have all the information sent to you with any offers as they’re brought on the market.

Anyway it’s time for me to get back to work but if I can help you in any way please call me and if I’m not answering, (because I’m knee deep in building stuff) just text or email me and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

For now have a great ‘Christmas and Happy New Year’ and I look forward to seeing you at some time soon or at least before I retire ;-).

Regards

Mike Lyons
