We can adapt ‘any’ new or existing summer house or outbuilding to fully insulate with electricity, hot & cold water supply and wifi etc, to use as garden office, salon, playroom, craft/hobbies room, home gym or any other use. 

As we are not wholesale suppliers we can offer impartial advice on any product available in the UK, however, we'll find you the best trade price from our trusted suppliers of timber outbuildings and cost for completing base work and fitting.

All surveys are free of charge and will include our full survey report (shown below) that is yours to keep, whether or not we provide our construction services.

  • Discussing plans in detail to ensure there are no planning restrictions and that siting of your summer house is in the most appropriate position.
  • Calculating drainage around and from your new building if required, ensuring that there are no wet areas around the entrance or elsewhere.
  • Show the possibilities of decking or paved areas in the most appropriate position around the building.
  • Check for the installation of electrical supply and regulations regarding health and safety in outbuildings.
  • Check for water supply either internally or externally and the appropriate drainage required by local authority.
  • Test for wifi range and usage if the outbuilding will have computer, t.v. or internet usage and the strength of signal 0n 2.4/5.0 GHZ. (We can offer advice on extending your existing range).
  • Calculate the weight of the structure for an appropriate foundation, either on a reinforced concrete base, raised brickwork Or timber frame.
  • Suggest any possible adapting of the structure such as insulation, double glazed windows and door type etc.
  • Crucial damp proofing!

There are many considerations before you commit to investing in a supplier of summer houses and home offices and with our experience as tradesmen, we will offer you sound advice before purchasing, to obtain the best value for money whether you intend purchasing small, medium or large summer house.

All styles of outbuildings should have a life span of 20 years as a very minimum and many will have 40 to 50 years if our simple guide lines are followed. Very often it's not the maintenance of wood that's an issue but more the correct procedure for erecting and weatherproofing at the installation stage.

Our experience spans four decades in the construction industry and we are more than happy to share our knowledge to help you make the right decision.

NOTE

As with all external timber products, there is a need to protect and extend the life which can be achieved with initial protection and careful consideration to the base structure, creating a barrier from rising damp.

This is one area that often gets neglected, resulting in many outbuildings deteriorating from the base and not showing visible signs until its far too late.

As with any structure, this will extend the life dramatically if done correctly which is why we fully protect from the elements before construction takes place.

In most cases any deliveries because of insurance are dropped kerbside and even when you receive approximate times for delivery there are components that are far too heavy for one person to carry.

Ensure that your builders are aware of your delivery and are available.

You will have to ensure that at least two people capable of lifting heavy items are available to take delivery and move near to the position that the building will be sited and erected.

This will ideally be away from any construction areas, particularly intended drainage areas but close enough to erect without too much 'double handling'.
